remit.ug,(Now Useremit.com)  the Ugandan startup, is an online platform that allows you to send money to Uganda from across the world. The remittance transfer service built by Redcore Interactive won Seedstars Kampala last June and is among the 36 startups that will compete and pitch for USD 500K equity investment on the global scale. The other African companies participating are Beam from Ghana, Green Energy from Nigeria, OkHi from Kenya, Torque from Rwanda, Poeyek from Senegal and Lumkani from South Africa. Startup finalists will take part in a three-day bootcamp organized in partnership with EPFL, the leading European engineering school. “With partners such as MEST, Google for Entrepreneurs, and Microsoft, Seedstars World identifies fast-growing and pioneering startup scenes and is on the mission to support regional businesses and their growth.” Alisee de Tonnac, Seedstars World chief executive officer (CEO) said the competition was unique because it spots and showcases the most promising startups outside Silicon Valley. Seedstars World looks for smart startups that solve regional issues and/or develop profitable products for the global market.
