UBA Uganda wants to begin the change of e-banking with the introduction of an online Chat Banker that enables customers make use of their social media accounts to carry out key banking transaction.Leo, as referred to by name, is a virtual banker chatbot that can help you open a new account, check your account balance, transfer funds and airtime, confirm cheques, pay bills. Leo is designed to work within the platforms people are already familiar with and it has already taken off on Facebook Messenger, with expectations of showing up on other social media platforms. Speaking at the official launch of Leo at UBA Uganda’s head offices in Kampala, Johnson Agoreyo, Managing Director/CEO, UBA Uganda, explained that Leo will give customers instant feedback as they transact their business on the platform. Gloriaus Byaruhanga, the Head of Digital Banking at UBA Uganda, demonstrated through a step-by-step procedure on how to make use of Facebook chat function to enjoy seamless banking services through chat sessions. She further explained that Leo is not just a chat machine but an artificial intelligence service as well a personality meant to address any type of banking concern.

All you need to do is to log on to your Facebook account, open up Facebook Messenger and open up chat with Leo, who then takes over the conversation by telling the customer what steps to take. From Facebook messenger, search ‘UBA chat Banking’, click and begin the chat.
